On August 6, the Pinggu District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality held a welcome ceremony for the visiting delegation from Lliria of Spain and the Global View on China tour group on the lawn of the Guononggang Supply and Marketing Village Livestreaming Industrial Park. The visitors included over 60 foreign friends from nine countries. Wang Jiequn, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director-General of the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, Zhang Qian, Executive Vice President of the BPAFFC, Di Tao, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Pinggu District Committee and District Mayor, attended the event, along with Joanma Miguel León, Mayor of Lliria, and Beatrice De Salles, Vice Chair of the Global View on China Organizing Committee.
Wang Jiequn expressed the hope that young people from around the world would get deep insights into the development of Beijing in the new era after their tours to cultural landmarks such as the Great Wall, Future Orchard in Xiying Village of Yukou Township in Pinggu District, and UHDTV Research and Application Laboratory, NRTA. The Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau has conducted the “Watch Outstanding Performances in Beijing” program to promote international communication. It offers high-quality content such as the hit TV show To the Wonder to build a bridge connecting Chinese and foreign youths. It is expected that the tour group would see China as what it is and help present a China that is credible, appealing, and respectable.
Zhang Qian said that the interaction between Lliria, the city of music, and Pinggu District, a violin production hub in China, reflects the power of music that transcends borders, highlighting the broad prospects of cooperation between the two sides. The BPAFFC will continue to promote exchanges and cooperation and look forward to the young musicians shining on the stage of the “Joy Dancing Beijing” Culture and Art Exchange Week of International Youth.
Di Tao introduced that Pinggu District is committed to serving the development of the capital in the new era and sticks to the path of green development. The district provides a great platform for international exchanges and strives to become an important bearer of national diplomacy events and contribute more to international exchanges. It is hoped that this event would serve as a bridge of communication to deepen exchanges and cooperation, and pool innovation resources to open a new chapter of friendship and cooperation.
Joanma Miguel León thanked the BPAFFC and the Pinggu District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality for their thoughtful arrangements, which made young musicians feel at home. He remarked that Pinggu’s profound agricultural civilization and creativity were truly amazing. As the city of music certified by the United Nations, Lliria is willing to leverage the power of music to promote cultural exchanges and deepen cultural dialogue with Beijing. The mayor of Lliria wished for a long-lasting friendship between the two sides.
Beatrice De Salles remarked that their tours from the Forbidden City to Future Orchard were a journey across different civilizations, where young people from around the world learned more about the World Heritage site, explored scientific and technological innovations, and enhanced cross-cultural understanding. She hoped that young people worldwide could fully demonstrate their youthful vitality under the guidance of UNESCO.
Before the meeting, the foreign friends went to the Guononggang Supply and Marketing Village Livestreaming Industrial Park, Future Orchard in Xiying Village of Yukou Township, and the Violin Experience Hall of Beijing Huadong Musical Instrument Co., Ltd. The tours enabled them to experience firsthand the charm of the agricultural science and technology industry and the vitality of the leisure, culture, and tourism industries in Pinggu District.
Also present at the event included Fu Xiangsheng and Ma Dongmei, leading officials of Pinggu District, along with those from the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, the BPAFFC, and the Global View on China Organizing Committee.
