The 10th “Joy Dancing Beijing” Cultural and Art Exchange Week of International Youth opened in Beijing’s Future Theater on the afternoon of August 8. The event is co-hosted the Beijing Performing Arts and Entertainment Association and the “Charming Schools” organizing committee, with the guidance of the BPAFFC and the China Soong Ching Ling Science & Culture Center for Young People. The event attracts more than 1,300 young people from different parts of China and ten outstanding youth arts groups from Belarus, Cameroon, Cuba, Germany, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Russia, Thailand , and Uganda.
As the flag of “Joy Dancing Beijing” was passed from the auditorium to the stage, the
10th Cultural and Art Exchange Week of International Youth kicked off with a captivating song and dance performance. Young people from different countries are going to enjoy a memorable tour of arts and culture in Beijing.
Wang Yanxia, Vice President of the BPAFFC, addressed the opening ceremony. She hoped that young people from different countries could get a taste of Beijing and love Beijing, feel the atmosphere of reform, innovation, openness, and inclusiveness while immersing themselves in Beijing’s history and culture, promote the common values of humanity for peace, development, equity, justice, democracy, and freedom through arts exchanges, and come together to writer a new chapter of a global community of shared future.
Orchenko Fedor of Kalinka Russian Child Dance Group gave remarks on behalf of the international teams, saying that it was a great honor to come to Beijing on the occasion of the China-Russia Years of Culture. To take a tour around Beijing, a historic metropolis, and feel its beauty, charm, and modernity will definitely leave an unforgeable, fond memory. The young artist thanked the “Joy Dancing Beijing” Cultural and Art Exchange Week of International Youth for providing a great platform for young people around the world to showcase the charm of their cultures and make friends.
Guo Xinbao, Director of the China Soong Ching Ling Science & Culture Center for Young People, Zhang Qian, Executive Vice President of the BPAFFC, Jia Xinhui, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Beijing Performing Arts and Entertainment Association, and Guo Haixia, Secretary-General of the Campus Culture Fund of the China Literature and Art Foundation, presented the flags to the international teams.
Revolving around the theme of “Say Hello to the Future,” the 12 distinctive performances were divided into three parts, namely, “Colourful World,” “Beautiful Dreams,” and “Sing for the Future.” These performances vividly present the vision of “Together for a Shared Future,” the official motto for the Beijing 2022 Olympics, and embody the shared pursuit of young people around the world to build a more harmonious and better future through exchanges and mutual learning.
At the invitation of the BPAFFC, young artists of Kalinka Russian Child Dance Group and Huada Chinese School in Germany performed the Russian folk dance “Kalinka” and the song and dance “I will think of you,” respectively, at the opening ceremony.
The 10th Cultural and Art Exchange Week of International Youth features four sections, namely, the opening ceremony gala, arts carnival, experiential activities with foreign embassies in China, and aesthetic study tours. Through a variety of arts performances, exchanges, and interactions, the week-long event serves as a bridge of friendship between Chinese and foreign youth, offering them the opportunity to feel the charm of Beijing’s culture in study tours.
