Results of Essay Contest for Foreign Students Announced

The awards ceremony of the 2022 Essay Contest for Foreign Students in Beijing was co-hosted by Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Information Office of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government on August 5. The event was attended by nearly 50 people including leaders of the organizers, judges, teachers and students from participating universities. Nearly 150 participating students overseas joined the awards ceremony via video link.

2022 Essay Contest for Foreign Students in Beijing was well received by foreign students. The organizers received a total of 153 entries from students in 64 countries submitted by 19 universities in Beijing. After evaluating the entries, five judges from Beijing Normal University, Peking University, Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing Foreign Studies University and Minzu University of China selected a total of 65 award-winning entries, including 6 first prizes, 11 second prizes, 20 third prizes and 28 excellent awards.

Through the works, foreign students expressed their admiration for Beijing as a city that hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, their experiences of volunteering services, their stories of experiencing epidemic response in Beijing, their friendship with Beijing citizens, and the unforgettable experience of pursuing dreams in Beijing. Participants in the essay contest, the foreign students are also witnesses to the flourishing development of Beijing in a new era. They present a real view through stories about Beijing from different angles, and express their deep feelings for the people of Beijing and even China as a whole.
