Awarding Ceremony Staged for iBeijing You and Me-Beijing in My Eyes Photo Contest

On December 17, the awarding ceremony and prize-winning photo exhibition for “iBeijing You and Me-2019 Beijing in My Eyes” Photo Contest was staged at the Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (BPAFFC), being the sixth in the series of  “iBeijing You and Me” events for the year 2019.

This year over 3,000 entries were submitted by enthusiastic amateur photographers from 65 countries. After review by an expert panel, the competition was narrowed down to 300 contributions, out of which 50 photos (two first prize, four second prize and eight third prize winners, as well as 36 awards of excellence), were selected. The prize-winning photographers are from 38 countries (listed here in the alphabetic order):  Bangladesh, Botswana, Cambodia, Canada, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Gabon, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mongolia, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, Republic of Korea, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United State, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.

In order for more people to enjoy these photos, an online vote was hosted at CRI.cn for the 50 prize-winning photos, among which 10 were selected as the Most Popular Online by a total of 107,263 votes.  

Since its birth 11 years ago, Beijing in My Eyes Photo Contest has become a signature cultural exchange program tailored by BPAFFC that encourages foreign friends to approach, understand and become part of Beijing.
