A young lawyer delegation of seven members of New Zealand-China Friendship Society visited Beijing at the invitation of The Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the BPAFFC) from August 13 to 17, 2018, during which members of the delegation had in-depth exchanges with legal professionals of Beijing and made abundant achievements.
As arranged by the BPAFFC, the delegation had a discussion with the experts from China University of Political Science and Law to deeply exchange on the development of higher education and discipline construction in the legal profession; visited the Beijing International Arbitration Center to learn in details about the arbitration operation of Beijing, especially the arbitration solutions of foreign-related contracts; and visited the famous Guantao Law Firm in Beijing, to have face-to-face exchanges with partners and lawyers of the firm and share opinions on practice situation, business focus, opportunities and challenges of the lawyer profession in China and New Zealand.
The delegation also paid a visit to Beijing Binglong Assets Management Co., Ltd. to learn about the legal needs and challenges encountered by Chinese financial enterprises in the process of going global. The BPAFFC held a professional exchange meeting and invited eight outstanding young lawyers from the Beijing Lawyers’ Association to have professional exchanges with the delegation, discuss on the judicial system, legal system and functions of judges of the two countries, compare similarities and differences, and learn from each other, so as to build a platform for the communication and cooperation between youths of China and New Zealand.
Mr. Gao Shuangjin, Vice President of BPAFFC, met with the delegation on August 14, attended the professional exchange meeting, and delivered a speech.
