To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan and to chart the future cooperation between the two organizations, Beijing NGO Network for International Exchanges ("Beijing NGO") and her long-time partner, Bellpo Organization, a Japanese social education-oriented nonprofit organization (NPO), co-organized an online dialogue on August 24.
Mr. Dai Jianjun, vice president of Beijing NGO, noted that, as President Xi stressed in a speech that 'amity and good neighborliness are invaluable to a country', Chinese and Japanese people have promoted their respective development over the past 50 years through mutual learning and sincere exchanges with a vision for achieving 'peaceful coexistence, intergenerational friendship, mutually beneficial cooperation and common development', which has given special significance to today's dialogue.
After a presentation of several pillar events hosted by Beijing NGO in recent years in the midst of the efforts of the country's capital to develop the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone ("two zones") as well as China International Fair for Trade in Services, ZGC Forum and Financial Street Forum ("three platforms"), he proposed specific suggestions to promote friendship and exchange in the fields of youth, culture and elderly care.
Twelve members of Bellpo Organization virtually participated the dialogue from Fukuoka, Nagasaki and Tokyo. President Yukari Tsuru reviewed the bilateral friendship exchanges carried out since the inception of the organization and since the establishment of relations with Beijing NGO in 2015, gave a positive response to the suggestions by Mr. Dai Jianjun and Beijing NGO, and confirmed her willingness to have substantial exchanges with Beijing NGO next year on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the conclusion of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between China and Japan.
Going forward, the two sides will be dedicated to enhancing regular contact as well as promoting substantial cooperation in the fields of youth, education, culture and on the community level, so as to improve mutual understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries.
" A single spark can start a prairie fire. Though NGOs only have limited strength, we hope to contribute to Sino-Japan friendship with the spark fire!" With the warm applauses of both parties, the online dialogue came to an end and ushered in a new chapter of cooperation between Beijing NGO and Bellpo Organization.
