Secretariat of Beijing NGO Visited The United Nations Development Programme Office in China

On the morning of January 10th, Secretary General of Beijing NGO Xu Qiang and his party visited the UNDP representative office in China and exchanged views with Mr. Dai Wende, Deputy Director of the Office. 
Secretary General Xu Qiang introduced the functions of Beijing NGO and its work on conducting exchanges of international social organizations and joining international organizations. He also discussed the key tasks of the international forum planned in October this year and expressed his hope to obtain the support of the UNDP. Mr. Dai Wende introduced the work of the UNDP China Office in implementing the international projects such as the UN Millennium Development Goals, environmental protection and cooperation with the Chinese government (South-South cooperation), and so on. He said that as a functional department of the United Nations, UNDP works for governments. It also stated that it will sign a memorandum of cooperation and conduct long-term exchanges and cooperation with Beijing NGO when conditions are ripe.
