NGO Cooperation Network Forum

From April 27 to 28, Ms. Zhao Wenzhi, vice president of China NGO Network for International Exchanges (hereinafter referred to as “CNIE”), vice chairperson of the 12th CPPCC in Beijing, and president of Beijing NGO Network for International Exchanges (hereinafter referred to as “Beijing NGO”), attended the 2nd Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network Forum and delivered a concluding speech. 
　　Hosted by CNIE, the forum attracted about 170 representatives of Chinese and foreign NGOS from 22 countries and regions to conduct in-depth discussions on the theme of “deepening practical cooperation and creating a better life”. At the opening ceremony, Mr. Song Tao, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a keynote speech saying that the establishment of a cooperation network is the result of the implementation of President Xi Jinping's important initiative. At the opening ceremony of the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the important speech of President Xi Jinping further pointed out the direction for us to promote the people-to-people connectivity of the Belt and Road in the future, strengthen the construction of cooperation network, and boost close cooperation among network members. 
　　Ms. Zhao Wenzhi, president of Beijing NGO, said in the concluding speech of the forum that the cooperation network has played a positive role in enhancing the people-to-people connectivity and has achieved fruitful results in the past two years. It is hoped that member organizations will make continuous efforts to build the cooperation network into a practical platform for uniting common understanding, gathering public opinions, promoting people-to-people connectivity, conducting civilized exchanges and mutual learning, benefiting people of all countries and making new contributions to the construction of a community of human destiny.  　 
　　Representatives of more than 10 countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and so on delivered keynote and exchange speeches at the opening ceremony, the sub-group meeting and the closing ceremony respectively. A total of 11 governments, enterprises and social organizations including the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, the Beijing Association for Science and Technology, and the Beijing Enterprises Group Company Limited participated in the forum. There were 6 member organizations of Beijing NGO. At the sub-forum, Beijing Women's Association for International Exchanges, a member of Beijing NGO, urged the women compatriots to take on the mission of peaceful development in the construction of the Belt and Road with the unique wisdom of women. Beijing Dragon Design Foundation expressed its willingness to actively promote green technology in countries along the Silk Road, support the training of green design talents, provide talents and technical support, and facilitate the sustainable development of the Belt and Road.
