The 39th Beijing Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition concluded successfully

From March 23 to March 26, jointly sponsored by Beijing Science and Technology Association, Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Bureau, Beijing Municipal Huairou District People's Government, co-sponsored by University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Municipal Youth Science and Technology Center, Beijing Municipal Youth Science and Technology Education Association, Beijing Municipal Huairou District Science and Technology Association, Beijing Municipal Huairou District Education Committee, Beijing Municipal Huairou District Science and Technology Committee, the 39th Beijing Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition (hereinafter referred to as "the contest") was held at Lake Yanqi Campus of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. After fierce competition, the contest has selected 105 first prize and 220 second prize for excellent young people's science and technology innovation. Among them, international and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan area project first prize 18, second prize 22.

On the evening of March 25, the award ceremony was held in the Eastern Auditorium of the Lake Yanqi Campus of China University of Science and Technology. Wu Yueliang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice President of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sima Hong, Executive Vice President of Beijing Municipality Science and Technology Association, Niu Xiaoli, Vice President of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhu Jialiang, Standing Committee of District Committee and Standing Deputy Director of Beijing Municipality Huairou District, Wu Jianmin, Deputy Director of the Management Committee, Member and Vice Chairman of the Party Group of Beijing Municipality Science and Technology Association, Liu Xiaokan Member and Vice Chairman of the Party Group of Beijing Municipality Science and Technology Association, Meng Fanxing, Member and Vice-Chairman of the Party Group of Beijing Municipality Association of Science and Technology, Lu Jilian ,Professor of Beijing University of Technology, Wang Jianguagn ,Vice Secretary-General of China Education Development Foundation, as well as special award presenting guests, more than 500 participants, such as students, judges and team leaders participated in the ceremony.

The event also announced the award-winning list of the second Beijing Youth Maker International Exchange Show, and awarded the Green Orange Future Maker Award, Special Award "power education" and a number of grade awards.

There are 12 special awards including Huairou District Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award, National Science Award, French National Science Center Universcience Award, Siemens Solid Edge Digital Design Award and so on. The prize-winning units include institutions of higher learning, science and technology venues, science and technology publications, science and technology enterprises, etc., which fully reflect the concern and support of the development of science and technology education for youth in the city over the years. At the same time, outstanding contribution award and ISEF co-competition award were awarded.

The competition takes the "discovery, innovation and responsibility" as the theme and sets up activities such as the opening ceremony, the closed defense and the appraisal, the public display and the exchange, the international communication and display activity of maker, the science popularization report meeting, the Chinese and foreign teacher forum, the talented person plans the exhibition appraisal exchange, the innovation experience, the award ceremony activity ,among which, the "Beijing Youth Science and Technology Innovation Mayor Award" of the highest prize for youth science and technology in Beijing was presented.Ten middle school students received the certificate of the mayor's autograph at the opening ceremony. The maker activity opened the "Winter Olympics" theme, adding the "To pay homage to the Winter Olympics" maker gift exhibition. In addition, under the strong support of Huairou Science City Management Committee, this competition also organized some award-winning students to visit the main exhibition hall of Huairou Science City, and for the first time into the "National Center for Space Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences".

This year, the competition attracted a total of 300 thousand youth to participate. A total of 2012 works from 16 districts of the city to participate in the city-level preliminary evaluation; The competition invited 20 delegations from 17 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States, as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. There are 39 entries in the competition; among them, mathematics, computer science, zoology and other eight disciplines, to achieve Chinese and foreign competitors competing on the same stage.
