Secretariat of Beijing NGO Visits UNDP China

On January 10, Xu Qiang, Secretary General of Beijing NGO Network for International Exchanges (Beijing NGO) led a delegation to visit UNDP China and exchanged views with Devanand Ramiah, deputy country director for UNDP China.

Xu Qiang introduced Beijing NGO's functions, its endeavors to conduct international exchanges and get affiliated to international organizations, and the key tasks of an international forum scheduled in October this year in the city. He also expressed his hope for UNDP’s support for the forum. Devanand Ramiah gave a briefing on UNDP’s international projects, such as those related to the UN Millennium Development Goals, environmental protection and China-UNDP Global Engagement Through South-South Cooperation. He highlighted how UNDP as a functional UN agency works with government partners. Ramiah also showed the willingness to sign a memorandum of long-term exchanges and cooperation with Beijing NGO in due course.
