I'm the Chinese Poetry Ambassador Liu Zhengxi (Mohamed Jihad) from Egypt. I currently work as a foreign expert at China International Communications Group. Today, I'd like to recite a poem, The Song of the Parting Son by Meng Jiao for you all.
From the threads a mother's hand weaves. A gown for parting son is made. Sewn stitch by stitch before he leaves. For fear his return be delayed. Such kindness as young grass receives. From the warm sun can't be repaid.
Now, why do I want to recite this poem to everyone? Because it holds a special place in my heart. Though I have never experienced my mother sewing clothes for me when I was getting ready for my first trip to China to pursue my studies, the way my mother packaged my suitcase without saying a word. She did not utter a single word yet, I could deeply feel her reluctance to let me go, along with her willingness to support me all the same. If anyone asks me what the greatest emotion in the world is, I will undoubtedly say maternal love. You can see Song of the Parting Son consists of only a few lines, but it depicts the greatness of a mother's love to the fullest extent. Therefore, I hereby wish my mother and all mothers across the world good health and all the best.
