In the vibrant early summer, the 2025 Themed Visit to Pinggu District by Diplomats to China and BPAFFC Council Members was held in Pinggu District on April 25. This event was co-hosted by the BPAFFC and the Pinggu District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. More than 20 diplomats to China from 15 countries such as Bulgaria, Sri Lanka, Panama, Algeria, and Tanzania took a tour of the district, together with the BPAFFC Council members in diplomacy, economy, and other sectors. During the visit, they got an idea of the district’s high-quality development and exchanged views on practical cooperation.

At the welcoming ceremony, Wang Yu, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the BPAFFC, said that Pinggu District enjoys unique advantages in high-tech agriculture, modern logistics, cultural tourism, leisure, and other sectors, and serves as an important showcase of Beijing’s high-quality development. He welcomed the diplomats to China to further explore and experience Pinggu District and promote practical cooperation in such areas as agriculture, logistics, and cultural tourism.

At the Jinhai Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center, the guests visited the food exhibition area of the China (Pinggu) Food Live E-commerce Product Selection Conference 2025 (CFEC 2025). They learned about the thriving food e-commerce industry in Pinggu District and had a taste of specialty foods from different regions such as Pinggu District of Beijing, Jinjiang City of Fujian Province, Kaiping City of Guangdong Province, and Guizhou Province, experiencing the international and local charm of Beijing’s catering industry.

At Yukou Poultry, one of the world’s top three layer chicken breeding companies, the visitors got a glimpse of its three-level quality breeding system. They learned about how the company uses internet, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and other cutting-edge technologies, plus a big data platform, to establish an industrial service platform to foster new forms of the digital economy and serve poultry farmers. Yukou Poultry’s self-developed “Jing” series layer chickens and “Wode” series broiler chickens have been exported to Tanzania, and efforts are underway to expand into markets in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Africa.

Then, the attendees went to the Guononggang Supply and Marketing Village Livestreaming Industrial Park, where they experienced “live e-commerce” in a metaverse livestreaming studio equipped with a 10-gigabit bandwidth.
