The awarding and opening ceremonies of the 2024 “Colourful World” International Youth Painting Invitational Exhibition took place in a lively ambiance at the China National Film Museum on November 23.
With the guidance from the CPAFFC, this year’s painting exhibition is co-hosted by the BPAFFC, Beijing Association for Science and Technology, Information Office of Beijing Municipality, Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal People’s Government, Beijing Women’s Federation, China Communist Youth League Beijing Committee, China National Film Museum, and Beijing NGO Network for International Exchanges, and co-organized by the Tianjin People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Hebei People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation. Since the call for entries was launched in April, some 52,000 works from 64 countries have been collected.
Addresses by VIPs
Jiang Jiang, Vice President of the CPAFFC, delivered a speech on behalf of the CPAFFC. Noting that science and technology holds the key to human progress, he pointed out that no country in today’s world can solve all innovation challenges by itself, while international cooperation, opening-up, and sharing are needed more than ever for humanity to tackle common development challenges. The development of science and technology has no limits, and we are heading towards a future of infinite possibilities. Young people are obligated to preserve the diverse civilizations of humanity and promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
Wang Yu, Party Secretary of the BPAFFC, gave a speech on behalf of the hosts. He stated that the painting exhibition was met with enthusiastic responses from youngsters around the world and drew wide attention from people from all walks of life and media at home and abroad. Some 52,000 young artists contributed their creative paintings, and a dozen ambassadors to China, sci-tech experts, and celebrities recorded videos calling for innovative ideas to together shape a better future. The BPAFFC will continue to serve as a bridge and carry out more institutional exchange programs to enhance mutual understanding, mutual trust, and friendship between people in Beijing and other parts of the world.
