On the noon of September 20, the BPAFFC received the visiting Sir Danny Alexander, Vice President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), who is departing the Bank at the end of his term to return to the United Kingdom.
Zhang Qian, Executive Vice President of the BPAFFC, met with Sir Danny Alexander. The two recalled their involvement in the establishment of the AIIB years ago.
Speaking of the life with his family in Beijing in the last nine years, Sir Danny Alexander remarked that he has been deeply impressed by the hospitality of local residents, the safe and convenient living conditions, as well as the continuously improving ecological environment. He also offered suggestions on how to make it easier for expats to live and work in Beijing and increase the appeal of long-term stays in the city. He looked forward to keeping in touch with the BPAFFC after returning to the United Kingdom to together strengthen the cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
Noting Sir Alexander’s fondness for traditional Chinese culture, Zhang Qian said that the BPAFFC is willing to work with Sir Alexander to build a bridge of mutual understanding and affinity between the two countries and play a more active role in enhancing people-to-people exchanges, mutual trust, and cooperation.
