International Forum on Public Service Innovation Held in Beijing

International Forum on Public Service Innovation, a parallel forum organized by Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, was held on December 19.

Li Xikui, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and H.E. Dr. Ann Derwin, Ambassador of Ireland to China, attended the forum and delivered speeches. It was attended by approximately 80 people including experts and scholars, representatives of international organizations and international institutions in Beijing, foreign-funded enterprises, and international friends such as Yasushi Aoyama, Professor Emeritus of Meiji University and Former Vice Governor of Tokyo; Tom Christensen, Professor Emeritus of the University of Oslo and a member of Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters; and David Ferguson, an honorary English editor of Foreign Languages Press from more than 10 countries including the United States, Ireland, Brazil, Japan, and South Korea, as well as professors from Tsinghua University and Peking University.

Centering on the theme of “Better Public Service for Better Life”, the participants discussed the problems in the governance of megacities in various countries as well as its solutions. International friends in Beijing present a view of “Beijing in the eyes of foreigners”, demonstrating the dynamic development of the capital in the new era.
