International Tour Exhibition for Chinese Films Enters Ukraine

On December 18, 2018, the opening ceremony of the “International Tour Exhibition for Chinese Films—Chinese Films Enter Ukraine” was grandly held at the Kyiv City Hall, Ukraine.

 

The event “Chinese Films Enter Ukraine” was jointly organized by the China National Film Museum, the China Film Association, the Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Film Office, as well as supported by the Embassy of China in Ukraine, the Kyiv City Hall and the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.

 

Du Wei, Chinese ambassador to Ukraine, Bilous Mykola, deputy chairman of State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, Chen Zhiqiang, Vice president of the China National Film Museum and Sergii Anzhyiak, first deputy director of Kiev City State Administration Department of Culture attended and addressed the ceremony. Among the nearly 300 attendees were Ukrainian artists, scholars, media reporters and Chinese students. The Ukrainian audience saw an exhibition on the development of Chinese film since its birth in 1905with great enthusiasm.

 

In the morning of December 19, Professor Liu Fan from the Chinese National Academy of Arts delivered a speech titled “Status and Trend of Chinese Film Development in the New Century” at the Chinese Embassy in Ukraine to professors and students of Ukrainian art colleges and professionals in the film industry. In that afternoon, a Chinese film was played at Cinema Kyiv.

 

The large-scale exhibition of pictures and exhibits on Chinese films, film lecture and presentations of Chinese films have further promoted the exchanges between China and Ukraine in film culture. Such events can enhance the public understanding of China in Ukraine and the people-to-people bonds between the two countries.
