“Field Visit to Beijing and Tianjin” for Diplomats in China and Council Members of the BPAFFC

To give full play to the role of people-to-people friendly exchanges in promoting the economic and social development of Beijing and deepen the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the activity known as “Blossoming in Spring, Harvesting in Autumn----Field Visit to Beijing and Tianjin” was successfully held in Beijing and Tianjin on September 26，2018. The activity was co-sponsored by the Beijing People’s Associations for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the BPAFFC) and the Tianjin People’s Associations for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Over 80 participants attended the activity, including ambassadors of Burundi, Chile, Trinidad and Tobago, diplomats of near 30 countries such as Kazakhstan, Nepal and Serbia, and council members of the BPAFFC.

Chinese and foreign guests visited Beijing Pinggu Mafang Logistics Base, Tianjin Jizhou District New Town Comprehensive Service Center, China-Chile Demonstration Farm and Xijingyu Village of Yuyang Town. They were briefed about the tourism and investment in Jizhou District. The visits enriched Chinese and foreign guests’ knowledge about the port service and cold-chain logistics of Pinggu as well as the economic development of Jizhou District, which laid the foundation for exploring cooperation opportunities with Beijing and Tianjin in the future.

As an event brand by the BPAFFC, “Blossoming in Spring, Harvesting in Autumn” is organized in spring and autumn every year to help foreign diplomats and BPAFFC’s council members to know better about the 16 districts in Beijing and build platforms for cooperation. It is the first time for this activity to be held in both Beijing and Tianjin for a bigger influence and was well-received by all relevant parties.
