Coordinated by the BPAFFC, a 15-member youth delegation of the Left Party of Germany visited the Fengtai District Government Service Center on May 26. They gained first-hand knowledge of community-level governance and public services in Beijing in the digital age.
At the Comprehensive Government Service Hall, the delegation was informed that as Beijing’s first one-stop approval platform, the center brings together 45 district-level departments and more than 1,700 service items. Its three-tier network consisting of the district-level center, sub-district and town branch centers, and community service stations enables services to be handled conveniently across the district, facilitating local service access for the public. It embodies the community-level governance philosophy of public participation, efficiency, transparency, and collaboration.
To deliver better public services in the digital age, the center was the first in the city to adopt the DeepSeek LLM and roll out the “Feng Xiaozheng” smart assistant. It supports over 1,300 government service items, significantly enhancing service efficiency. At the 24-hour self-service zone, 13 types of dedicated self-service devices attracted great interest from the German guests. Delegation members also tried out the self-service driver’s license application service in person.
The delegation commended the “one-stop processing” service that benefits businesses and the public, the Overseas Talent Harbor for overseas talent services, the sweet marriage registration site, and the library that combines government services with culture.
At the Smart Government Data Center, real-time data and practical cases gave the delegation a first-hand understanding of how Fengtai District leverages digital technology to promptly identify public demands, rationally allocate service window resources, and support government decision-making. They also gained in-depth insights into Beijing’s effective practices and experience in applying digital technology to advance community-level governance in a super-large city.
