On the morning of October 24, Wang Yanxia, Level I Bureau Rank Official of the BPAFFC, met with a visiting delegation of 22 members who attended the Seminar for Diplomats of Serbia in Beijing. Participants in the Seminar were senior officials from multiple government agencies in Serbia, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Telecommunications, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
Wang Yanxia extended a warm welcome to the delegation and put forward some proposals on how to promote subnational cooperation and non-governmental friendship between China and Serbia, focusing on building the “four bridges” of people-to-people exchanges, practical cooperation, cultural exchanges, and youth friendship. She said that taking this visit as a starting point, the BPAFFC will maintain close communication with the participants, actively expand the channels of engagement with Serbia, and further promote practical cooperation between China and Serbia, so as to jointly write a new chapter of non-governmental friendship.
On behalf of the delegation, Mihailo Papazoglu from the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked BPAFFC for its hospitality. He stated that under the leadership of the heads of state of both countries, the ironclad friendship between China and Serbia has seen sustained growth over the past 70 years. Noting that Serbia is an important country in Central and Eastern Europe and plays a vital role in Belt and Road cooperation, he looked forward to further broadening practical cooperation with China. The participants also had an in-depth exchange of views on how to enhance non-governmental friendship between China and Serbia.
