On April 14, the BPAFFC welcomed the visiting delegation of Norsk Taiji Senter (NTS) led by its founder Ms. Pamela Hilley. The delegation was composed of 24 members, including professors, engineers, architects, journalists, and other Taiji enthusiasts. Ms. Wang Yanxia, Vice President and Senior Councilor of the BPAFFC, met with the delegation.
Wang extended a warm welcome to the delegation and praised Ms. Pamela Hilley’s commitment to promoting Taiji cultural exchanges and China-Norway friendship. She noted that the BPAFFC and NTS have maintained close ties since the establishment of relations in 2007 and conducted cultural exchanges almost every year. This is the ninth time the NTS founder has led a delegation to visit China. During their stay in Beijing, they also engaged in Taiji themed activities with Taiji enthusiasts from Beijing at Juyongguan Great Wall, further deepening the relationship between the two organizations. The BPAFFC is willing to work with NTS to enhance non-governmental friendship and promote people-to-people bond between China and Norway.
Ms. Pamela Hilley introduced the status quo of NTS, shared their itinerary in China, and reviewed the organization’s 42 years of efforts to promote Taiji in Norway and its history of interactions with the BPAFFC. She stated that Taiji embodies the principle of seeking common ground while putting aside differences and the concept of promoting harmony. NTS is ready to continue collaborating with the BPAFFC to advance exchanges on Taiji, especially among the youth, to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and Norwegian people.
Other members of the delegation also shared what they think of the Taiji sport and culture. They all agreed that the two sides should stay in touch and make greater contributions to spreading the Taiji culture and promoting China-Norway exchanges.
