On November 27, 2023, Mr. Mohamed Rasheed, former Ambassador of the Maldives to China and Chairman of the China-Maldivian Cultural Association (CMCA) visited the Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (BPAFFC). BPAFFC Executive Vice President Zhang Qian and Vice President Jiao Yutong extended a warm welcome to Mr. Rasheed whose last visit was four years ago.
Rasheed introduced the recent exchange projects his Association carried out in China in such areas as vocational education and youth exchanges. He said that people-to-people friendly exchanges needed new ideas and measures, stressing that youth exchanges were the hope of the future of people-to-people friendship.
Zhang Qian expressed her admiration for Rasheed’s long-term commitment to friendly exchanges and cooperation. She added that BPAFFC would strive to focus on youth exchanges and beyond, mobilize resources from all areas, actively diversify the content and forms of exchanges, and helps write a new chapter in China-Maldivian people-to-people exchanges.
