On June 2, Zhang Qian, Executive Vice President of the BPAFFC, welcomed Justin O’Jack, chief representative of the representative office in China of the University of Virginia. They were joined by Wang Yanxia, Vice President of the BPAFFC.
Zhang Qian praised the remarkable work of the University of Virginia and its representative office in China have done over the years to promote U.S.-China friendship and exchanges in education. She introduced the main functions and signature people-to-people exchange programs of the BPAFFC and visits by youth delegations of higher education institutions in the U.S. It is the first time that Justin O’Jack has visited the BPAFFC. He looked back at the longstanding friendship between the University of Virginia and China and the active cooperation with Chinese higher education institutions in recent years.
The two sides made extensive and in-depth discussions on how to promote mutual understanding and trust between American and Chinese people, to help more American people, especially youngsters, get hands-on with a real China and the everyday life of Chinese people, and to facilitate people-to-people bonds.
