On September 3, at the invitation of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the CPAFFC), José Antonio Arce Jiménez, Executive Chairman of the Global Leaders Foundation, led a delegation of local government officials from Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, and Costa Rica countries to Beijing. In order to gain a better understanding of the characteristic industrial zone development in Beijing and the preparation work for the coming 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, and to promote exchange and cooperation, the Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the BPAFFC) organized visits to the Beijing Banking & Insurance Business Park, the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games Exhibition Center, and the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee's office in Capital Iron and Steel Company Complex, a former industrial site.
The delegation learned about the development, investment promotion and operation of the Beijing Banking & Insurance Business Park from the overall planning sand table. During the visit to the central green space and the comprehensive pipe corridor system, the delegates highly praised the park for the application of high technology to achieve full use of renewable resources such as solar energy and rainwater, as well as its achievements in energy conservation and green city construction. They also expressed sincere admiration for Beijing’s tremendous achievements in environment protection, people's livelihood improvement and many other aspects.
After visiting the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games Exhibition Center and the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee’s office building in Capital Iron and Steel Company Complex, the delegation said that although ice and snow sports were not popular in Latin America, they identified with Beijing's commitment of hosting “green, inclusive, open and clean” games and looked forward to coming to Beijing to watch the Winter Olympics by high-speed rail in 2022.
