Youth Representatives of the Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Follows the Youth Representatives of Chinese Envoys of Friendship to Visit ROK

Upon the invitation of Korea Foundation (KF), 175 envoys of the Youth Representatives of Chinese Envoys of Friendship headed by Zhu Dan, deputy director of the Department of East Asian Affairs of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, went to visit ROK for friendly exchange. The delegation members were made up of youth representatives from the central government organs and six provinces, cities and autonomous regions, including Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi, Gansu, Hubei and Guangxi. The youth representatives of the Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the BPAFFC) first visited Cheju and Seoul, ROK, and then several institutions, including the National Assembly Building of ROK, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Seoul Expressway Traffic Management Center. Meanwhile, they had a seminar with representatives of ROK.

After a five-day visit, exchange and seminar, the Chinese youth representatives knew ROK in terms of its politics, economy, and culture background better, and deepened their understanding of the connotation and significance of the China-ROK friendship. All the Chinese representatives said that this activity was an unforgettable experience of friendship, learning, and heart-to-heart communication, and hoped that there would be more opportunities of the kind for them to strengthen exchange, cooperation and friendship with youths of ROK. Last but not least, they expressed their determination to be inheritors of the China-ROK friendship.

Since 2009, the Chinese People’s Association for 

Friendship with Foreign Countries and KF have jointly carried out the China-ROK Teenager Mutual Exchange Program. So far, there have been around 3,000 excellent youth representatives from China and ROK realizing mutual visits through this Program. All these has made irreplaceable contributions to consolidating the foundation of public support for the China-ROK friendship.
