This year marks the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the China-Japan Peace and Friendship Treaty. At the invitation of Embassy of China in Japan, a delegation of 30 members of the Tokyo Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians Alliance, led by Kunihiro HIGASHIMURA, president of the Alliance, visited China from July 23 to 26. The Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the BPAFFC) was entrusted by the Embassy of China in Japan to host the delegation.
Zhang Qing, deputy speaker of Beijing Municipal People's Congress, met with the delegation and exchanged on strengthening friendly communication and practical cooperation between the Beijing Municipal People’s Congress with the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly at various levels and in various fields. The delegation, at its request, visited the Cadillac Arena as arranged by the BPAFFC to learn Beijing’s experiences in post-games use of competition venues after the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Bloomage International Culture and Sports Development Co., Ltd. introduced to the delegation on the advanced design concept of the Cadillac Arena and the operation of events and performances after the Olympic Games. Members of the delegation said that the pre-games design and post-games use of the Beijing Olympic venues provided valuable lessons for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic venues. The delegation also visited the Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall to learn the city planning of Beijing.
The delegation dropped by Tianjin, where it visited the Tianjin Binhai New Area Library, Management Committee of Tianjin Free-Trade Zone, and the Tianjin Planning Exhibition Hall.
