Japan China Friendship Association of Tokyo Citizen Exchange Group Visiting China

To commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the conclusion of the China-Japan Peace and Friendship Treaty, the 2018 Japan China Friendship Association of Tokyo (JCFA-TYO) Citizen Exchange Group, led by Tokuichiro Utunomiya, president of JCFA-TYO, paid a goodwill visit to China from October 25 to 30 at the invitation of the Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the BPAFFC).

On October 26, Tian Yan, executive vice president of the BPAFFC, signed with Tokuichiro Utunomiya the Memorandum on 2019 Friendly Exchange Activities between the BPAFFC and JCFA-TYO.

The BPAFFC held a welcome reception for the group. Over 100 people, including Japanese friends from the JCFA-TYO Citizen Exchange Group, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Old Friends Delegation, Oume city, Tokyo Japan-China Friendship Association Delegation and the delegation of Japanese Traditional Culture, as well as leaders of relevant departments of Beijing, council members of the BPAFFC and representatives of college students, enjoyed a happy get-together and recalled old friendship heartily.

During her speech, Tian Yan looked back to the 37 years of history of exchanges between the BPAFFC and JCFA-TYO and the fruitful achievements. Tokuichiro Utunomiya remarked that the next year would be the 40th anniversary of the establishment of sister city relationship between Beijing and Tokyo, and JCFA-TYO and the BPAFFC would further carry out friendly activities in various fields.

During its stay in Beijing, the group visited Yuetan Inheritance Club in Xicheng District of Beijing, exchanged with Beijing citizens, learned and experienced the production of traditional Chinese handicrafts. It also participated in the 2018 Walking around Kunming Lake for International Friends.
