Choir of Rhineland-Palatinate State Music Academy Visits Beijing

To enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and German youths, a 16-member Choir from  Rhineland-Palatinate State Music Academy (LMAK Rheinland-Pfalz) headed by Kurt Karst, president of the Association of German China Friendship Societies, visited Beijing from 6th to 14th December, 2018 at the invitation of the Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the BPAFFC),

 

On December 12, the campus of Beijing International Studies University (the BISU) was filled with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The BISU student choir and the Choir of Rhineland-Palatinate State Music Academy together presented classics with strong national features, including the world-known The Song of Yimeng and the sweet The Song of Youth. The joint concert ended with a beautiful Evening Song. Shen Xin, Director General of the Department of European Asian Affairs of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the CPAFFC), Tian Yan, Executive Vce President of the BPAFFC, Gu Xiaoyuan, leader of BISU, and Su Bensheng, Vice President of the BPAFFC watched the performance.

 

On December 10, Tian Yan met with Kurt Karst at the BPAFFC. Both sides agreed to carry out exchanges and cooperation in culture, economy, trade, sports and vocational education in the future. The aim was to actively promote exchanges between the Chinese and German youths, so as to cultivate successors for the China-Germany friendship.

 

During its stay in Beijing, the delegation also had exchanges with choirs of North China Electric Power University, the Third Affiliated Middle School of Beijing Normal University and the Beijing Huairou Student Activity Management Center, and visited the National Centre for the Performing Arts, the Capital Museum, the Central Conservatory of Music, 798 Art Zone and Huairou Gaolianghe Painted Ceramic and Porcelain Factory, where the delegation learned more about the history of the ancient capital, experienced the culture of intangible cultural heritages, and learned about the recent development of art education in Beijing.
