Citizen Delegation from Busan Visits JD Group Headquarters

On the morning of July 22, a citizen delegation of experts, civil servants and college students from Busan visited the JD Group headquarters for friendly exchanges. The visit was organized by the Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the BPAFFC), with a purpose to highlight the involvement of Chinese enterprises in the development of the quaternary sector of the economy.

Along the route from the JD Locker in Building C, the Cultural Exhibition Hall, to JD Vision and finally its command center, the JD guide provided the delegation with a detailed introduction to JD business models employed in the e-commerce industry chain. The introduction covered online platform, logistics, warehousing and experience stores, as well as the latest achievements in technological innovation, strategic planning and independent R&D.

The delegation got a better understanding of JD Group, which is an exemplar of excellent Chinese private enterprises. The visit facilitated the economic and talent exchanges and cooperation between China and ROK.

After the visit, a forum themed as “the Driving Force for Smart Logistics Innovation” was held in line with the theme of the visit that centered on smart applications. Zhang Zhitong, a senior researcher at the Data Research Institute of JD Group, introduced the JD intelligent logistics and its future development possibilities to the delegation. He started with JD’s independently developed intelligent equipment, and then moved on to JD’s progress in achieving 90% automation that involves smart logistics, drones and driverless vehicles. The delegation members asked a number of questions that were of their interest.

    The visit helped increase ROK citizens’ understanding about the development and achievements of Chinese enterprises. They were impressed by the applications of high technology. The delegation head said that exchanges and cooperation between the two countries could be stronger in more fields for common development and friendship.
