At the invitation of the Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the BPAFFC), the Mexican three-member Taiji delegation from the Dao University visited Beijing from May 27 to 31, 2019 and attended the 2019 Taiji-Beijing International Health-building Exchange.

During their stay in Beijing, the Mexican Taiji amateurs took part in the "Taiji in Flowers" activity in the site of the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition. They performed Xuanwu Taiji, a combination of various Chinese Kungfu forms, such as the Taiji Boxing, Eight-Diagram Palm, Xinyi Boxing, Five-Animal Exercises, traditional martial arts training gears and Qigong. They then learned the Easy Taiji recommended and promoted by the General Administration of Sport of China. Afterwards, they exchanged ideas on specific Taiji skills with Lu Taidong, a world Taiji champion coming from Xicheng District.

It was a second visit for the Mexican Taiji amateurs to Beijing for Taiji exchanges organized by the BPAFFC. Mireya Mya, head of the delegation and the only person in Mexico certified by Wudang Sanfeng, an authoritative Taiji institution, to train Xuanwu Taiji, said that the visit was very productive. She extended her gratitude for receiving effective instructions from the Taiji masters in Beijing, exchanging views on various Taiji moves with over 100 Taiji amateurs from 12 countries and experiencing the splendid intangible culture of Beijing. She also expressed her hope to take part in the next Taiji-Beijing International Health-building Exchange.
