Japanese friend Megumi Sunahara Visits the BPAFFC

On May 20, Su Bensheng, vice president of the BPAFFC, met with the visiting Japanese friend Megumi Sunahara. Su Bensheng briefed him about the general information of the BPAFFC and its plan to promote exchanges between China and Japan. The governments of the two countries set the year 2019 as the China-Japan Youth Exchange Promotion Year. This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the sister-city relationship between Beijing and Tokyo. The BPAFFC will hold a series of events for both occasions. The two sides also discussed the preparation for the launching ceremony of Sunahara's commemorative album.

Megumi Sunahara was born in Japan in 1933. He joined the Northeast Democratic United Army in 1948, and became a soldier in the Chinese People's Volunteer Army during the Korean War in 1950. After returning to Japan in 1955, he has been devoting himself to trade and friendship promotion between Japan and China.

Executive vice president Gu Pin'e and deputy secretary general Tian Tao of the China Society for People's Friendship Studies attended the meeting.
