Rhythms along the Silk Road — the BPAFFC Sends a Youth Culture and Arts Delegation to Join "Global Gathering" in Busan

From May 18 to 20, a youth culture and arts delegation of 15 teachers and students from the dance troupe of Beijing Niulanshan No. 1 High School attended the 14th "Global Gathering" in Busan, ROK.

The festival was held at Nurimaru Park in Haeundae, Busan on May 19. The sponsor invited ten troupes from countries such as China, Russia, Japan, Thailand and Mongolia to perform in the festival and 45 national representative bodies to take part in performances and charity sales. Fifteen thousand tourists from ROK and the world watched a series of performances. During the festival, young artists from Beijing performed traditional folk dances with a rich Chinese flavor, featuring Peking Opera, blue and white porcelain, as well as stringed and woodwind instruments along the Silk Road. Their excellent performances, traditional folk costumes and bright images attracted lots of foreign fans and won applause from the sponsor, people from all walks of life and visitors from different countries. They were enthusiastic to take photos with the young artists from Beijing.

The delegation was invited by the Busan Foundation for International Cooperation. The visit, as a cultural event organized by the BPAFFC, aimed to facilitate non-governmental contacts between Beijing and ROK, enhance people-to-people exchanges between China and the world, and encourage Chinese youth to learn from and absorb excellent foreign cultural achievements, so as to tell the China’s stories well, spread traditional Chinese culture and art for stronger cultural confidence. With exquisite and elegant dances, students from Beijing Niulanshan No. 1 High School promoted the traditional Chinese culture and art, showed the self-motivated attitude of Beijing youth, and built an art bridge for people-to-people exchanges between China and the world.
