The BPAFFC Executive Vice President Zhang Qian Meets with Harvard University Youth Leaders Delegation

On May 16, Zhang Qian, executive vice president of the Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the BPAFFC), met with the Harvard University delegation of young leaders who are all students pursuing master’s degrees at Harvard Kennedy School of Government with diverse work backgrounds including government, military, the UN, finance and media. For most of them, this was their first trip to China.

Zhang Qian briefed the delegation on a number of fronts including the BPAFFC’s work, Beijing’s preparatory work for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Beijing’s sister cities and the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC)  that was currently being held in Beijing. She also invited the delegation to watch a promo video for Beijing and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. She encouraged the delegation members to learn more about China’s development and make friends with the Chinese youth so as to play a positive role in enhancing the understanding between the two peoples.

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (the CPAFFC), the delegation visited China with assistance from the China-United States Exchange Foundation based in Hong Kong S.A.R. Su Bensheng, vice president of the BPAFFC, also attended the meeting.

Harvard Kennedy School is an important training base for public officials and a research institution on government in the United States. The School has produced many outstanding public leaders in the United States and undertaken a large number of government research projects. It exerts tremendous influence over the social development and the government decision-making of the United States. Starting from 2014, the CPAFFC hosts the Harvard University youth leaders delegation every year.
